Art Every Day
My art for today was also a gift so I will be uploading it at a later date. I made another quick postal atc. This is a variation of something i have made in the past. I love eye candy so I wanted to post something at least!!
For those participating in art every day for a month, pat yourselves on the back.....Tomorrow marks the end of November! I will write my thoughts about this exercise tomorrow when it concludes.

I worked on a gift for a friend today and want to keep it a surprise, so I made another atc. I have discovered I love making these little mail art atc's so I have now unwittingly created a series and I will probably continue to explore how to make them with different slants, trying to keep them fresh. I have so many cancellation stamps so it gives me an opportunity to continue to use them.

My art for today is a page in my art journal; the theme for artwords is birds and I incorporated some birds in this piece. I am not sure if this piece is completely finished; I had a very frustrating day in my art room today; I was trying to work on some Christmas cards but just could not get anything to gel the way I intended. I almost gave up but decided to change directions all together and try something different. I am down to 6 inches square of workspace on my table so I think I will have to spend Monday cleaning up.... that is why I can never find anything!LOL

I did not get further than this background , so this is my art for today. I have no idea what it will turn out to be or if I will even finish this piece off. I just like the colors so far.
Thankful
I am English and don't really celebrate Thanksgiving; I try to make each day a day to give thanks. I have been through some tough times this year but I am thankful each day, for life, health and friends. I started this blog as a healing tool, and just wanted to thank everyone that visits for the gift of friendship. It is working.

My piece for today is my contribution to a project for Joanna; a very brave member of our community who was recently diagnosed with cancer. The words say "I'll praise you in this storm" Lyrics from a song by Casting Crowns. The CD was recommended to me by a friend going through some hard times and I have found a lot of comfort in it.

I spent the last hour of the day searching for a bunch of images I know I have somewhere but could not find. I ended up using what I could lay my hands on but I was so frustrated!! I have been trying to organize my room but it is just too small. So this piece was actually created on Thanksgiving day, but I did not get it posted in time!

My art for today is an atc. I made the background yesterday as I had paint left over from my journal page. I hate to waste paint!LOL And I had a sheet of nudes left over from a swap so the image was on my desk... Like I say, I never really preplan stuff unless it is for a specific swap. I have a swap to get out but I am struggling a bit for ideas since it is fabric based and I am literally afraid of my sewing machine. Never let it be said that I balked at a challenge... I am struggling though.

This is my art for today. It is a doll that was inspired by Belinda Schneider's class on the artchix website. I tried to use materials that I had on hand. The scan is not clear since it is quite a dimensional item. This is totally out of the box for me, but I always like a good challenge. I want to try many more things that are out of my comfort zone. Thanks for your generosity in sharing your lovely doll Belinda!!!!!!

I finished off the 4 by 4 page I started yesterday by adding some stitching with beads and some metal circles and made another one. The theme is copper.

This piece is unfinished; I had a lot on today and was just too tired to complete it. I was playing with transparencies a la Jen Mason and burned the edges. I want to add some stiching around the transparency and have already made the holes.
Crusade No 2 and Art every Day
This is the first time I am playing in the GPP Street Team crusade. I have spent the last few days wondering about what to depict as far as music goes. I have many varied tastes but the song "I can only imagine" by Mercy Me is amongst my current favorites. The words just speak to me. My art for today.

Glad I made today's deadline. This challenge has really been good for me. Even when you are not feeling creative, just being in your little creative corner can sometimes just spark a little something, something and away you go.

Wednesday Stamper and Art Every Day
I literally threw this one together tonight; too tired to really think about it too much. I can't remember how I made the background; it has been in my collection of unfinished projects for ever and a day. Just did a bit of basic stamping with acrylics and dye ink. I have made something similar in the past but I prefer today's offering.

This is quite unusual for me, but I came across this image amongst my things this evening and it just spoke to me. I hope I am not infringing any copyright but it is something I got out of a magazine and it is in my personal journal which is for my enjoyment. It is autumn and nature's splendor is quite amazing when you see all the colors of the leaves; the trees will eventually be "bare."

If it were not for the challenge, I would never post this page because I consider this piece a failure; however not everything we do every day turns out to be a masterpiece; many things end up in the bin or tossed aside. So I decided to post it to keep it real!

Here is today's effort. I found my art journal so I finished off a collage on a prepainted page. I tend to have a lot of unfinished projects and one of my goals is to see things to fruition. I kind of threw this together but I am just pleased I did something because I wasn't feeling creative AT ALL! I have an exam tomorrow and I am feeling quite nervous.
I have just looked at both these pieces side by side and see all the similarities.....mmmmm have to try something different tomorrow for sure. More wild, less thought out maybe?

I decided this month to have a go at trying to create something, no matter how small or simple or complicated EVERY DAY. There is an article in the most recent Cloth, Paper, Scissors about an artist that created a purse every day for a month and I just happened upon a blog this week that has a similar creative challenge. I haven't been involved in too many challenges although Wednesday Stamper captured the very essence of what I am(a rubber stamper!) so I have participated in that most weeks.
Here is my offering for today. The challenge was almost scuppered before I got started. I meant to work on some of the unfinished pages in my art journal, but I could not for the life of me find it and after searching for about 20 mins it was time to move on to my meeting! I am sure it is in a mound of "stuff" somewhere but for now it is awol. So I decided to make a postcard instead. I am actually going to mail this one at some point. It was not what I had in mind, and I don't know if I like it, but that is not the point of this exercise. The point is to just do something every day and for me to stop analyzing and wondering etc etc which means nothing gets done.
Enough of the talk.
Let's hope I can follow through.
Parallel to this challenge, I am going to do a little bit(even if it is only 5 mins) of organizing in my craft space every day for a month as well. I obviously need to!!!LOL
