A canvas

This is a canvas I painted well over a year ago and it just sat there waiting..... my motto of late is to try and finish off all those half painted, half done bits and pieces that litter my workspace. I needed something special for a friend and decided to use this canvas because the colors just sang. This was a gift for the owner of my local stamp store. She has been a joy to know and I am just so pleased that her business is booming and that she has stayed open for people like me to submit to our obsessions. She gets the best teachers in and after being in London for the past 3 years where I could hardly find any classes, it is such a joy to have that resource once again. I am hoping to take a class with MaryJo Mcgraw next weekend.
I had just glued on the buttons when I scanned the piece so I hope the glue dries clear! LOL

Still Diet Coke Less

As some of you know, I gave up diet coke recently and today marks the 2 month anniversary. It is easier these days to go without although I have been known to gaze longingly at a can in someone's hand and watch as they sip with glee. I get my caffeine these days from coffee which I limit to one tall latte a day and try and go some days without. It is hard though!!! I am drinking a whole lot more water and that is the upside of my tale of woe!LOL. Christmas may be the hardest test.....

Wednesday Stamper

This is my entry for this week; a page from my journal. The colors started out being inspired by my Starbucks cranberry and orange muffin this morning(the bag it came in!!!) but i had trouble reproducing the colors so it went a bit off tangent. I realised I do have quite a few clown stamps....

Wednesday Stamper

Here is my contribution to the birds theme. I don't have too many bird stamps and it is not a subject I use very much in my artwork, but I loved this challenge because it took me out of my comfort zone! No FACES in this particular piece which always seem to feature in my work. The background was a happy accident; the paper was underneath something else I was working on and I just happened to spot it on its way into the trash and thought "mmmmm, I like those colors." Don't you just love when that happens.

Tag

Just a tag I was playing around with today. I have had some computer issues recently which seem to have been resolved. I just converted to a Mac and this is the first time I have had any problems with it. My fault for loading up that poor hard drive and overworking it.

Wednesday Stamper

Last minute, but this is my creation for this week. I have been getting into envelope art so I tried it for this week's theme. I don't know if I can actually fit the address in, so it may not totally qualify! My idea of envelope art is that you have to actually mail something in it. Join in the battle against the naked envelope!!!!!!

Another paperartsy creation

I have had internet connection problems all weekend. Really makes you realise how much time is spent online. My freight arrived yesterday and now I face the daunting task of unpacking everything and squeezing it into every nook and cranny I can find. I half unpacked one box today but I am trying to find the boxes that have my stamps so I can reaquaint myself with them!!!
It has been over a month since I gave up diet Coke but for some reason tonight I have been craving one soooooo bad. Here is hoping I do not give in to the temptation! I am buying a bottle of wine tomorrow night to take my mind off it! LOL. I can say I have been drinking much more water than I ever have in the past. That has got to be a good thing. In fact I have only had something fizzy quite occasionally. My car is littered with bottle of water. Even the kids don't get to drink too many fizzy drinks these days. Their latest thing is Koolaid singles! Still sugar as opposed to fizzy sugar; its still all sugar. They drink water when they can't find anything else.

Some paperartsy goodies

Here are 2 samples I made using paperartsy stamps. I am going to have to learn how to put in links!!! I am working on it Audrey!!LOL
The atc was just for fun but the card was for a friend and I thought I would play with making a matching envelope. I am totally against the naked envelope. I always try and put something on my envelopes even I just plonk down a stamped image. Sally Turlington makes the coolest envelope art I have yet to come across on the net.

A new journal

I wanted to try working in a bigger format so I bought a new journal. I was totally inspired after visiting Michelle Ward's blog and seeing some of her new work. It was featured in the latest Somerset too; totally wild.
I got the alphabet across the top from the stamp store today. Nice and big!! Still waiting for my freight and 99% of my stamps to arrive from London. I should have it this week.
