Art Goals for 2007

I have enjoyed reading fellow bloggers Art goals for 2007. So here are some of mine.
I do enjoy swaps as I feel it is a great way to experience art from all over the world and a means to further my art by seeing and feeling what others are doing and thus get inspired to try new things. I made quite a bit of personal art this year but I still want to get into art journaling big time. I am going to try my hardest to attend art and soul this year as a means of connecting with other artists.Blogging has definitely taken connecting with like minded artists to a new level. I hope to meet lots of new friends online via blogging.

I finished this canvas off a couple of days ago. The scan is a bit blurry because of the dimensional objects on the canvas. Like I said, I want to start the new Year free of any swap obligations!

Swap pages

Here is the last set of pages I did for a swap with Pilar, Belinda and Audrey, using GreenPepperPress stamps. I really enjoyed this swap as it was a challenge to come up with something different for each page. I am so digging this shape too. Beryl Taylor's book Mixed Media Explorations inspired the swap and it is a great book filled with eye candy. It has inspired me to get out my sewing machine!!

Pin for a friend

I wanted to try something completely different and one of my new years resolution is to overcome my fear of the sewing machine. I am starting early!! I made this pin for a friend. It is on a felt base.

More artwork

Since I was feeling much better I decided to work on a long overdue swap using my GreenPepperpress stamps. It was nice to get creative again.

Happy New Year

I wanted to wish all my fellow art friends a Happy New Year. Glad everyone survived Xmas; I caught a bad stomach bug which really put a damper on things, but it was great anyway. I am quite happy to see this year go by and I anticipate 2007 with hope. May it be filled with love, joy and laughter. And great Art!!! I am thankful to be back blogging.

Gift

I made this as a secret santa gift but then forgot to be secret about it! Anyway I think Susan
liked it and I really enjoyed making it for her.

Something different

I made these for a exchange I am involved in with a couple of other gals. I needed to make something different from an atc and I was glad for the break. Gotta get some Christmas cards done but nothing is happening to my muse in that department.

Wednesday Stamper

Why am I always so late with the theme for the week for Wednesday Stamper.? Numbers was the only theme I ever did on time! Anyway here is my offering; a trading card. All stamping! Proud of that.

Art Every Day

Yesterday concluded Art every day for the month of November which was an exercise I discovered on Kat's website. Unfortunately my server let me down yesterday so I was unable to post this atc that I made. I love this series of postal atc's I came up with towards the end of the month, and I am sure I will make more, but I am also looking forward to creating Xmas stuff!!!
I have to say that it was a struggle at times to try and create something every day. It started out easy but got really difficult along the way. At times I was not in the mood and at times I was just plain tired. I defintely did not feel creative all the time, but I wanted to show myself I could do it. I put pressure on myself which for me, blocks creativity. However, I am so pleased with myself for seeing it through. I think it really does make you think, and encourages creativity even when you think you are not feeling creative. It gives you a few mins or a few hours to get away from all the stresses of life and lets just lose yourself and immerse yourself in something away from real life. The connection with other like minded people is so strong. The feeling of accomplishment when you finish a piece can be so powerful. Defintely an exercise I think everyone should take at some point. I don't know if I would ever do it again because of the pressure I put myself under but I think if I did, I would not put myself under so much pressure. It would be okay to miss a day or two. Thanks Kat. It has been an awesome month.
